- Many venomous snakes are prohibited.
- Call the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks at (406) 444-2535; their website is www.fwp.mt.gov
- If the species in question is not listed in the Import Requirements List, or in the following State Law (see link below), then the species is prohibited for importation into the State of Montana. However, keep in mind that the import classification system is ongoing and subject to change. If in doubt, call (406) 444-2043.

Animal Health Division

Veterinarians may obtain a Montana Import Permit Number at (406)444-2976, seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
