Montana Import Requirements
Information about Montana's import requirements for various animals.
Prohibited species
The following are prohibited from entry into Montana.
- Oryx
- Addax
- Gemsbok (oryx gazella)
- Reedbucks
- Wildebeests
- Hartebeests
- Sassabies (Blesbok; Bontebok; Topi)
- Collared Peccary or any hybrids of these species
- Russian boar; European boar; and all hybrids thereof.
- Sheep
- Mouflon
- Barbary
- Aoudad
- Deer
- Red
- Axis
- Rusa
- Sambar
- Sika
- Roe
- Goats
- Ibex
- Tahr (Hemitraguis)
- Chamois (Rudicapra)
- Brown Bear (Grizzly)
If the species in question is not listed under Import Requirements List, or in the following two laws (see links below), then the species is prohibited for importation into the State of Montana.
