Information about Montana's import requirements for various animals.

Poultry and hatching eggs :

All genus and species of:

Dove
Fowl
Game Birds
Peacocks
Pigeons

Mandatory General Requirements

Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) and Permit
Call Department of Livestock and request annual import permits on commercial and NPIP participating flocks (406) 444-2976, or click here for a copy.

Mandatory Specific Tests

All poultry must NOT be vaccinated or exposed to live-virus vaccine within 30 days of import. Must be free of infectious, contagious or communicable disease.
Pullorum-Typhoid:
- Birds 14 days old or under and hatching eggs:
  - Must originate in flocks or be distributed from hatcheries or premises participating in the National Poultry Improvement Plan(NPIP), or operating under supervision of the Poultry Disease Control Authority of the state of origin & classified Pullorum-Typhoid clean.
- Birds over 14 days old:
  - Have one negative test for Pullorum-Typhoid within 30 days of entry or originate from an official clean flock, hatchery, etc.
