There are vaccines available for many strains of Newcastle disease.
Remember, there are several strains of Newcastle viruses. For END - a very contagious and virulent strain - the morbidity rates for susceptible (non-vaccinated) chickens approach 100% and mortality rates may exceed 95%.
It should be noted that END can infect and cause death even in vaccinated poultry.
Once a bird has contracted the virus there is no cure.
