Department of Livestock

Dear Brand Book Inquirer:

The Department of Livestock accepts requests for brand books from any interested parties. The brands included in the listing are registered brands only and are not available brands. The listing is furnished as a public service and the Department does not profit by its production.

This information is provided under the following conditions:

1. You will pay for all charges and costs related to producing and mailing this report. The cost per copy is $30.00 per county including shipping.
   
   
2. Under Montana law, Section 2-6-109 M.C.A., if we provide you with a document including private addresses, you may not use it as a mailing list. If you do so, you may be guilty of a misdemeanor.
   
   
3. The Department is continuously updating the information on file as brands are transferred or new brands issued, the listing you receive may already be out of date. The Department is therefore not responsible for any changes in ownership or errors in the final product, including those which may have been included, inadvertently or otherwise, in the listing given to you.
   
   
4. The listing will not be considered by the Department or a court of law, as an official brand book or document.
   
   
5. The following statement must be included prominently in any final publication, or with any use of the listing given to you:
   
   This publication is not a publication of the State of Montana. It may not be used for official Department of Livestock business or for brand verification in a court of law. The Department of Livestock is not responsible for any errors herein.
   
   
6. It must be understood that any final product is not being produced at the request of the Department, and that the Department does not need, nor is it under any obligation to use, purchase, or otherwise support in any manner this project.
   
   
7. A request for a listing is considered an acceptance of the these terms.
